Heritage:

Château Tanunda was established in 1890 and is the site of the very first vines planted in the Barossa in the 1840s. The Château is an Australian heritage icon and its grand buildings, magnificent gardens and prime vineyards are owned by the Geber family who continue a century-old tradition of fine winemaking.

Wine Making:

Grapes are picked in the night to retain cool temperatures and undergo pressing at 10 degrees. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel using selected yeast cultures and temperature controlled at less than 10 degrees. A portion of the wine has secondary fermentation in oak barrels for three months.

Tasting note:

A full-bodied Chardonnay, displaying aromas of apricot, almond orange blossom. The floral notes are complemented by citrus and stone fruit flavours on the palate. The exceptional depth of flavour is a result of the unique granite soils and low yields per acre from the Cowra region of New South Wales.
